My Favorite Bird

My favorite bird in my flock is my Snowy Call Duck, Lilly. She first arrived

in the fall of 2019 and I have loved her ever since. She was the first bird that I

bought using money I saved, all on my own. Her coloring reminds me of clouds.

Lily’s down feathers are fuzzy and soft like a cozy blanket. The outer feathers are

silky and smooth, I love to sit and pet her. Another reason I like her is her size, she

is small enough that I can hold her easily. I really like spending time cuddling and

snuggling her. I also love her eyes they are big and brown and close together.

Lily’s black and brown beak is much smaller than our larger ducks which makes

her even cuter. Her wings are very strong, so strong she flew out of my hands one

time. I think her wings are beautiful because they have straight lines, are

beautifully colored and crisp and clean. I really enjoy her silly personality, because

I am silly too. The things she does that are silly are, she loves to chase our larger

ducks around and they run away from her. She also will sit and splash in the water

right after we fill it up, making a big muddy puddle. When I feed her, she digs

around in her food spilling it all over the floor and into the water puddle. Late at

night she always does a crazy laughing quack that I think is so silly. She can be

cranky when I go to catch her, but she will calm down and not be cranky after I

have held her for a little bit. These are a few of the reasons why Lilly is my

favorite bird in my flock.
